Relaxing Cool Weather Dress

Pattern Review: Simplicity S9380

I wasn’t completely convinced about making this dress, but since I had some jersey fabric available, I figured I had nothing to lose.

The material isn’t particularly thick, so I have to wear an additional layer underneath it in Winter. However, it’s a suitable weight by itself for late autumn and early spring. The dress is quite loose, so I found that opting for a smaller size worked better.

Making the dress is fairly straightforward, and my first one has been made without the hood. Adding the skirt took quite a bit of time because of the ruffles. The pattern indicates that the sleeves should be long, and I did follow that by making longer sleeves. However, I won’t do that next time, as I find them completely impractical.

Even though I don’t find this to be the most flattering of dresses, I will make it again because it’s very comfortable to wear.
