Bold Orange Dress

I have some mixed emotions about this dress though I do love the boldness of the orange.

If you are a beginner the pattern would be a good choice. The dress is made from 4 main pieces with pockets and straps. The straps are of a very odd construction, my research did not find the technique anywhere. If I make this dress again I will rework how the straps are created.

I used a very cheap bargain basement poly cotton fabric that is possibly a little too stiff for this style of dress. It may have been better in a slightly softer fabric.

For me this will be the perfect dress to relax in at home, the free flow is perfect for hot days. I may make it again if only to use some stash and have another comfy around the home dress in the Summer.

The pattern I used was Kwik Sew K4172. It is a while since I used a Kwik Sew pattern and I am pleased to see they have changed the paper they use to print the patterns on.
